Life is a process of discovery.  Along the way we are met with challenges where we can discover gifts and achieve a deeper understanding of ourselves.  Angela’s approach with clients is relational.  She is honored to learn what led an individual to seek counseling. She focuses on establishing a therapeutic rapport, respecting where clients are emotionally.

Angela’s work with clients is informed by her education in Art Therapy Counseling with a specialization in nature-based and trauma-informed therapy.  She utilizes a variety of therapeutic modalities, including existential therapy, strengths-based, and person-centered therapy.  Angela has over ten years of experience working in community mental health, residential and hospital settings.  She currently provides chairside art therapy at a cancer care center while working toward her independent counseling license and art therapy credential.

Angela specializes in working with adults (18+) experiencing a life transition such as grief and/or a recent serious medical diagnosis, such as cancer.

Angela earned a master’s degree in Art Therapy Counseling from Southern Illinois University in 2020.  She has over 20 years of experience as a photographer, specializing in nature-based photography for its healing benefits.  Additionally, Angela earned a master’s degree in fine art from Columbus College of Art & Design, where her work focused on processing grief and loss through the camera.  She earned her bachelor’s degree in Recreation Administration from Bowling Green State University.  Angela has additional training in Acceptance Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.  She views herself as a lifelong learner who enjoys the opportunity to gain clinical knowledge and art techniques and processes to better serve her clients.
